Gordon's Alive
Hudzen actor to make first ever Dimension Jump appearance.
27 February, 2015
We start this week with some disappointing news: those of you who were excited by the announcement a few weeks back that Graham McTavish (Warden Ackerman) was going to be a guest at the Dimension Jump convention in May will be sad to learn that due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Graham will no longer be in attendance.
But as one door closes, another opens, and the fan club have softened the blow by making yet another guest announcement, and it's a doozy: Scottish actor and comedian Gordon Kennedy is the latest special guest to join the lineup.
You'll know Gordon, of course, for his show-stopping turn in The Last Day as the deranged replacement droid Hudzen 10 - who can forget that promo video? - but he's also got an impressive slate of other performances under his belt. He's best known for his role as one of the writers and stars of the brilliant 1990s sketch show Absolutely, which also provided Gordon's fellow cast members Jack Docherty and Morwenna Banks to Red Dwarf. More recently he's also moved into drama, starring in the BBC's Robin Hood as Little John, as well as making appearances in the likes of Casualty, Doctors and The Bill. You can read him talking about his career, and his time on Red Dwarf, in this Mr Flibble interview from 2001.
Gordon joins a guest list that already also includes Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn, Hattie Hayridge and Mac McDonald, with further guests (subject, of course, to any pesky availability problems) still to be announced. Dimension Jump XVIII takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nottingham on the weekend of Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd May 2015. Weekend passes cost £65 for fan club members, and £80 for non-members - but with just two short months to go until the convention, you'd better get a move on...

While Grant Naylor Productions fully supports the Dimension Jump convention, please note that it is not a GNP event and is organised and run by the official Fan Club.
