The Man in the Rubber Mask volume two underway.
25 May, 2012
Did you take our advice earlier this year and sign up to Robert Llewellyn's Audioboo channel, in order to be able to get brand new updates to his The Man in the Rubber Mask memoir as they arrive? If so, you'll have been feeling quite smug recently, as they've been doing just that. If you didn't, then don't worry, we won't hold it against you - you can just go and do it now, instead.
Robert has now written, recorded and published no less than three brand new chapters, giving fans almost two hours of original material in addition to the entirety of the original 1993 book. The new chapters cover Series VI, VII and VIII, reminiscing about Robert's time on the show from a present-day perspective, as well as filling in autobiographical detail about his work and home life. It's fascinating stuff, infused with Robert's easy wit and charm - we were especially tickled by a rather brilliant anecdote in chapter two about Robert and Craig in the cockpit of a 747.
With the promise of more to come, there's really no reason not to fork out the incredibly reasonable one off £4.99 fee, which gets you a permanent subscription to the channel. And if enough of you download it, maybe we can persuade him to do a Thin He Was And Filthy Haired audiobook as well...
