Flying the Flag for Freeview

Red Dwarf featured in new advert.

If you've been watching any British telly lately (well, any channels with adverts on) you might have seen Red Dwarf in an unusual place. That is, on channels besides just our regular home of Dave.

That's because a new advert for the Freeview broadcasting service is currently airing, and it's a celebration of some of "the nation's favourite TV" across the wide variety of channels available on Freeview. And of course, Red Dwarf is definitely among the nation's favourite TV - so we're flying the flag for Dave alongside our channel buddies at Taskmaster.

Sadly, the Red Dwarf theme isn't among the classic themes that have been mashed together to make the ad - but nevertheless, check out some nice and prominent snippets of Red Dwarf XII in the TV spot below:

And aptly enough, you can currently see triple-bills of Dwarf on Dave on Friday nights at 9pm. Tonight (11th May) sees three classics from Series IV, while there's a chance to relive the entirety of Series XI over the following two weeks. And just to reiterate the point of the advert, all of this is accessible (so long as you have a compatible telly and aerial) completely free. Which isn't bad going at all, is it?
