Double Funk
Check out Craig's new Saturday night radio show.
8 April, 2016
As we're sure you're already aware, the place to be if you want a hefty dose of funk and soul action - brought to you by the one and only Craig Charles - is BBC 6music on Saturday nights at 6pm. The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show is, after all, one of the longest-serving institutions in modern British radio. But what if those three hours just aren't enough Craig for you? What if you want to keep the party going on until midnight? What if, goshdarnit, you just don't have a DAB (or internet) radio?
Thankfully, all of those problems have been solved in one fell swoop, with the launch of another brand new radio show of Craig's, also on Saturday nights. At 10pm, an hour after The Funk and Soul Show finishes, Craig will be hopping over to Radio 2 (which as well as online and digital, can be found in the UK at 88-91 FM) for the brand new Craig Charles House Party.
The show launches for the first time on Saturday 16th April, and sounds like it will bear some similarities to the existing Funk & Soul Show, but with a bit more of a late-night party atmosphere. "I've loved presenting various shows on Radio 2 in recent years," says Craig, "So to get my very own permanent Radio 2 home every Saturday night, where I can play my favourite funk and soul tracks, is a dream come true!"
And if the radio's not enough for you, don't forget that Craig regularly does live Funk & Soul gig dates throughout the year - here's a smattering of upcoming nights that might see him performing near you:
