Dan-ster's Paradise
DJJ's Dwayne Myers returns.
2 January, 2015
It's starting to become an annual tradition that just as Christmas gets out of the way, and we start to feel a little bit bleak about the remainder of the winter, up pops Danny John-Jules with a fresh dose of Caribbean sunshine - not to mention more than a few murder mysteries.
Yep, it's time for the fourth series of the crime comedy-drama Death in Paradise, which features Danny as Dwayne Myers, a cop on the fictional island of Saint-Marie, near Guadeloupe. The series also stars Kris Marshall as a fish-out-of-water British detective called in to investigate a series of murders on the island, and its leading man has described it as "a cross between Columbo and Scooby Doo".
The series returns to BBC One at 9pm on Thursday, 9th January, to start an eight-episode run. Here's the Beeb's trailer for it:
Eagle-eyed Dwarfers might also notice the presence of another alumnus, in the shape of Don Warrington (Holoship) as the island's police commissioner. So if you can put aside your jealousy at the several weeks a year Danny gets to spend filming the show in Guadeloupe, it's well worth checking out.
