A Smegging Good Weekend

While next year's Dimension Jump convention in Birmingham looks set to scratch the fan weekend itch for Dwarfers based in the UK (or, at least, those able to make it here next May), it's fair to say that it's not a feasible option for everybody.

Fortunately, fans on the other side of the world will get their own chance to meet, and question the heck out of, the stars this coming anniversary year, courtesy of a pair of Australian convention promoters and their brand new event, A Smegging Good Weekend.

Intriguingly - and unlike most conventions here in the UK - the event will actually take place in two different venues across the weekend of 2nd-3rd February 2013. On the Saturday, First Contact Conventions will be running the day in Carlton, Melbourne; while on Sunday, Culture Shock Events take up the baton up in Parramatta, Sydney. Novel!

The convention has already tempted Robert Llewellyn and Danny John-Jules to leave behind the wintry February climes of the UK in favour of a late summer weekend by the coast, with further guests still to be confirmed. On both days the event will include Q&A sessions, a photo session, an autograph session, quizzes, competitions and, in their words, "lots of fun".

UPDATE - The organisers have now confirmed that Craig Charles will also be appearing at the convention this weekend!
