Live From Jodrell Bank
Craig to do Q&A at legendary observatory. UPDATE: Win tickets!
1 June, 2012 (Updated 8 June, 2012)
It's a fairly safe bet that if you like Red Dwarf, then you probably like space. And if you like space, you can't help but love Jodrell Bank - the observatory in Cheshire that, among other things, houses the Lovell Telescope, one of the largest telescopes in the world. It's played an important role in the history of space exploration - being used to track various Soviet and American moon probes - but now, far more significantly, it's about to get a bit more Dwarfy.
This June, the latest in the series of Live from Jodrell Bank shows will take place on an outdoor stage in the shadow of the famous telescope. These shows combine live music and all manner of science-based fun and chatter, and on Sunday 24th June our very own Craig Charles will be there to entertain in both fields.
As well as performing a live Funk and Soul Show DJ set, Craig - ever the renaissance man - will also be taking part in an exclusive Red Dwarf Q&A session in the venue's Science Arena. As part of the session, Craig and a Jodrell Bank scientist will look at the relationship between Red Dwarf's sci-fi and actual scientific fact - but there's a very good chance that Craig, chatty soul that he is, might talk a little bit about Series X, as well...
In addition to Craig's appearance, the show on the 24th will include live music from the legendary Paul Weller, Blur guitarist Graham Coxon and Mercury prize-winning band Gomez. General admission tickets cost £35, and the event kicks off at 2pm.
Live from Jodrell Bank are offering Red Dwarf fans the chance to meet Craig Charles in person, 2x VIP tickets to the event and a signed poster and also have their question put to Craig. All you have to do is email comp@livefromjodrellbank.com with a question to Craig. The best questions will be used and one person will be chosen at random to win the prizes. Closing date Friday 15th June.
