The Big Difference
What makes the American Back to Earth DVD and Blu-ray so special?
20 November, 2009
Okay, so we lied. There's no difference.
The thing is, the American DVD and Blu-rays of Back to Earth are identical to their UK counterparts.
Same three-part spectacular in 'original' and 'Director's Cut' flavours. (Sorry, 'flavors'.) Same awesome collection of bonus material - documentaries, deleted scenes and outtakes recovered from the bin. (Sorry, 'trash'.) Same brilliant commentaries which allow writer/director Doug Naylor - and, separately, his cast - to wander you through the productions' various paved walking areas. ('Sidewalks', y'see.)
So, Region 1-ers, there's no need to import from the UK any longer - you can grab the shiny disc of your preference via our Merchandise section. Here's the full SP (it's slang; we're so twenty-first century):

For the techy people, '(HD)' material is 1080i (Blu-ray only), screen ratio 1.78:1, and DTS HD 5.1 surround sound on the Director's Cut (or Dolby 5.1 on DVD). If you don't have the degree in astrophysics it takes to follow all that, just take our word that it's all good stuff.
