A Load Of Wiffle
Revisit a world of conventioneering.
26 September, 2008
If you've never been to a Dimension Jump before, it's hard to convey the bizarre, cheery vibe of the event. The detail may be quizzes, guests, costumes and dancing - but how does it feel?
Well, writer Bob Fischer braved Dimension Jump in 2006 and may well have captured a little something of what the French would call a certain I dunno what. In his book Wiffle Lever To Full the wistful geek visits conventions for Doctor Who, Discworld, Star Wars, Star Trek, Robin Of Sherwood and, of course, Red Dwarf.
It's a charming, merry and often personal journey (it's sweet to learn that when he met his partner for the first time, she was wearing a Red Dwarf T-shirt), and Bob's been kind enough to offer reddwarf.co.uk readers a short extract from the Dimension Jump chapter. So: click here for the pdf.
