BBCA's Top Five
As their competition closes, BBC America prepares to unleash the fan's favourite episodes.
4 May, 2001
Internet voting has been hot and heavy for BBC America - the satellite channel in the USA that brings the BBC's top shows across the Atlantic - as they come to the end of their massive viewer poll.
Fans were asked to vote for their favourite episode and, after the deadline passed on Sunday, April 29th, the results were totted up. The randomly-selected competition winner will scoop a complete Red Dwarf video collection. Better yet, viewers will be able to catch the top five winning episodes on the station on Friday, May 4th at 8pm (ET).
The results, complete with their percentage of the vote, were as follows:
1. Krytie TV (17.95%)
2. Quarantine (15.53%)
3. Polymorph (10.37%)
4. Tikka to Ride (8.97%)
5. Gunmen of the Apocalypse (8.44%)
6. Camille (6.61%)
7. Emohawk: Polymorph II (3.60%)
8. Nanarchy (3.12%)
9. Psirens (2.69%)
10. Epideme (1.56%)
"We've gotten a great response, with close to 2,000 votes cast," said Judy Coan-Stevens of BBC America. "Krytie TV was really no surprise as the forerunner, but I thought Gunmen of the Apocalypse might have posted higher. Write-ins counted for about 20% of the overall vote. They were really all over the place, but Back to Realitywas a write-in favourite."
