Synopsis

The Dwarfers are arrested by the Mechanoid Intergalactic Liberation Front. Lister, Cat and Rimmer are uploaded into Mechanic bodies and forced into servitude while Kryten is given a new life of pampering and luxury.

Did You Know?

This episode originally had the working title "Kryticus".

Location shooting took place at the familiar haunt of Sunbury Pump House, previously seen in Series IV's Justice and Series V's The Inquisitor.

The costumes made for Craig Charles, Chris Barrie and Danny John-Jules in their droid forms were based around repurposed Kryten torsos from previous series; while the assortment of droids aboard the Siliconia were given simplified models in order to allow for mass production!

It's just possible that this episode finally gives us a reason why Rimmer was so obsessed with being a fish during his astro-navigation exam...
