Did You Know?
Credited under his real name of John, Jack Docherty (The Inquisitor) was the third guest star - after Morwenna Banks and Gordon Kennedy - to come from the sketch show Absolutely.
As originally scripted, the Thomas Allman sequence would have been Red Dwarf's first ever "cold open" (i.e. pre-credits scene) - but the decision was ultimately taken to place it after the opening titles after all.
Unusually, Rimmer is in his Series III-IV-era green costume for this episode, rather than Series V-style red - although it does make it possible to differentiate the "original" Rimmer from his alternate-timeline version, who wears red. The red costume also saw a name badge added in order to cover off a specific line of dialogue.
