Rob Grant and Paul Jackson's Lockdown Theatre is one of the few positives to come out of the pandemic. Beginning as weekly commentaries covering the first three series of Red Dwarf, the shows quickly snowballed into star-studded extravaganzas featuring the likes of Emilia Clarke, Sir Ian McKellen, Emma Thompson and Sir Kenneth Branagh.
Difficult to top you might think, but Lockdown Theatre's bold new direction is taking us to the world of sport and sports stars with A Team Talk With Legends - Live.
A journey through victories, defeats, trophies and hat tricks, the event promises the same badinage and repartee as For One Knight Only, but this time it will be an honest and revealing insight into the bittersweet rivalry and friendship between Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Kenny Dalglish; a professional relationship that stretches back over decades. Are there still any old scores left to settle, records to set straight, or juicy bits of tittle-tattle that can only now be revealed? And no doubt the Scottish legends will have a few friendly opinions on team selection for England manager Gareth Southgate.
Join the fun and frolics and crack open a bottle of Fergie's favourite Tignanello, as top sports presenter Kelly Cates does her best to stay out of the blast zone. And with one week to go until the broadcast airs, on the eve of the match between Liverpool and Manchester United, there may even be a few more surprises in store this time.
Both Rob and Paul, together with fellow producer Trevor East, have really high hopes for this show, promising as it does, a revealing look into the thoughts and homes of some of sport's biggest stars. You don't want to miss it.
Thanks to our wonderful audience, Lockdown Theatre has already raised over £432,000 for the performing arts. Join us on Friday 15th January at 7pm GMT as we do the same for Sports United Against Dementia and The League Managers Association's charity In The Game, with all proceeds going towards vital research and helping LMA members and their families who are suffering the effects of dementia.
Full details are available on the Lockdown Theatre website and you can get tickets here.
