Trailer for The First Three Million Years - and that Comic-Con panel!
31 July, 2020
If you're a fan of watching the people who make Red Dwarf talking about it, then times haven't been this fertile since those days in the mid-2000s when documentary-packed DVDs were being knocked out every six months.
So in case you've somehow missed the news up to this point, here's your reminder that next Thursday (6th August) at 9pm sees the launch of Dave's brand new three-part series of retrospective documentaries: Red Dwarf: The First Three Million Years. And you can see a trailer for the series right here:
A look back at the comedy phenomenon three million years in the making.#RedDwarf The First Three Million Years, starts 6th of August on Dave.

The series will cover the entire history of Red Dwarf, from 1988 (and indeed before) to the present day - with interviews from cast and crew alike as well as some famous fans. It promises to be a pretty enormous celebration of all things Dwarf that you won't want to miss!
Dave have also scheduled some classic episodes to go alongside the broadcasts - episode one will be followed by Better Than Life and Thanks For The Memory, while episode two, on 13th August, gets paired with Queeg and Marooned (details of the scheduling for week three have yet to be released!) Stay tuned on @RedDwarfHQ as we might well join you in a bit of a live tweetalong of those classics...
What's more, the night following the first episode - Friday 7th August - will see a first repeat showing of The Promised Land, at 9pm - so that's another good opportunity to join in some communal watching. And it also brings us neatly onto our second major piece of recent Red Dwarf video chatting - courtesy of the special Comic-Con@Home panel from last weekend!
If you didn't stay up on Sunday night to watch Doug, Chris, Craig and Robert talking about the special - and a lot of other Red Dwarf-related chatter besides - with Nerdist's Kyle Anderson, then you can watch the whole 45 minutes right here:
And don't forget, for fans in the US, The Promised Land is now available to stream on Britbox - along with every previous episode of the show!
(But we can't tell you yet if the documentaries will make it over there, as a few people have asked - as ever, we'll let you know if and when news of such a thing arises...)
Red Dwarf: The First Three Million Years lands on Dave on Thursday 6th August!
