Landing In Japan
Series XI and XII Blu-ray and DVD sets now available!
5 July, 2019
We're delighted that Red Dwarf fans in Japan - or indeed fans anywhere else who just like collecting as many international editions of the show as possible - can now get their hands on two new series releases, as Red Dwarf XI and Red Dwarf XII are now available on Blu-ray and DVD!
The Japanese translations, released on 2nd July, are the second foreign-language editions of the two most recent series to make their way into the world, after the Czech Republic saw TV broadcasts of both series this year and last - showing once again that Red Dwarf's international popularity shows no sign of slowing down!
It's the first time any Red Dwarf has been available in HD Blu-ray format in Japan, too - since Back to Earth and Series X were only released there in a DVD boxset. The episode dubs are once again performed by a main cast of Masashi Ebara as Rimmer, Kenyu Horiuchi as Lister, Koichi Yamadera as Cat, and Horishi Iwasaki as Kryten. The first three have all played the characters ever since Series I's DVD release in 2003, while Mr Iwasaki replaced the late Sukekiyo Kameyama in 2015.
Japanese fans have already been sharing on social media their excitement at getting their hands on the sets:

There'll be more excitement to come next month, too, as Japan will become the first international market to receive the Series I-VIII upscaled Blu-ray set! So that'll make for yet more varieties of box art to add to the ever groaning-shelves...
