Could your logo design grace Dimension Jump XXI?
7 June, 2019
There's a new Dimension Jump convention on the horizon, and with it comes the need for yet another new logo. Over the past couple of decades, the Official Red Dwarf Fan Club have featured a different Red Dwarf-themed design for every one of their events, and over the last decade, have been inviting fans to submit their own art - with one lucky winner picked to grace the convention programme, merchandise and website.
Although the convention doesn't take place until May 2020, the Club are getting everything prepared nice and early - and so the competition to design the DJXXI logo is now open! And not only will your art get used all over the convention, you'll be able to see it first hand - as the prize includes a weekend pass for the (sold out) event!
Here's the brief for the competition:
- The logo must include a clear and striking emblem suitable for merchandise use. DJXIX's "JUMP", DJXVIII's mission patch and DJXVII's Mugs Murphy designs are perfect examples of this.
- It must also include the words "Dimension Jump XXI" in a clear, stylish font. For bonus points, the design could also support the removal of 'XXI' to give the design more uses in the years ahead.
- Hand drawn entries are welcome, but bear in mind that the Fan Club need something that can be converted into a high quality image.
- By entering you are agreeing that the Fan Club can use your logo, free of charge, for any purpose it needs; for example, merchandise and marketing.
- The winner will be selected purely on the merit of the design by a panel including Fan Club Team Members who will have no knowledge of the identity of the entrant. Their decision will be final.
- The winning logo may be subject to alteration, in order to ensure best fit for intended uses.
- Finally, the closing date for the competition will be 11:59pm on Wednesday 26th June 2019.
So get your thinking hats on and your pencils (physical or digital) ready - you don't have long to get your design in! For inspiration, here's a selection of the best logos from previous events:
