Anyone who's ever caught one of his legendary Sunday morning sessions at Dimension Jump will know that Danny John-Jules knows how to work a room. You may also recall that he's spoken many times in the past of his admiration of the entertainer Sammy Davis Jr, and of his desire to put on a stage show about the man's life and career.
Well, that time has now arrived, as Danny has announced I've Gotta Be Me, a (so far) 11-date tour of the UK this autumn, in which he'll be singing and dancing in the way that only he can:

The star of Red Dwarf, Death in Paradise and Strictly Come Dancing is going on tour. "The coolest cat in town", is singing and dancing his way back to his musical theatre roots as he takes you on a journey through the life of showbiz icon, Mr Wonderful himself, Sammy Davis Jr.
He will be singing and dancing through some of the best-known hits while telling the compelling story of the world's greatest all-round entertainer.
As Sammy said, "I have to be a star like another man has to breathe". The only problem for Sammy was that he had to break down walls to rise to the top of the entertainment world. Sometimes his lyrics said it best: "Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong, whether I find a place in this world or never belong, I gotta be me, I've gotta be me."
This musical and visual delight follows the almost unbelievable life of the coolest cat ever, leaving you feeling enlightened, but most of all entertained!

What's more, there's a special competition running for any Red Dwarf fan who shows up on the night - "something special" and Dwarf-related will be given away each night, and anyone who has purchased a ticket and follows The Official Red Dwarf Fan Club on social media is eligible to enter!
