Take The Fifth
Danny's Death in Paradise back for series 5.
1 January, 2016
It's now an annual tradition that BBC One see fit to liven up those cold January evenings with a dose of tropical sunshine, in the shape of the Guadeloupe-based crime comedy-drama Death in Paradise, and its co-star Danny John-Jules. And even though this particular winter hasn't been especially cold, all things considered, they're still going ahead and doing it again anyway.
In case you've missed it over the previous four years it's been running, Death in Paradise is about a British police detective (Ben Miller for the first two series, Kris Marshall since then) sent to live and work on the gorgeous, fictional island of Saint-Marie in the eastern Caribbean. Danny plays a local cop, Dwayne Myers, and is actually the only actor to have appeared in every single episode of the show so far (up to the end of series four). And there's another Red Dwarf connection, in the shape of Holoship's Don Warrington in a recurring role as the island's police commissioner.
The fifth series of the show kicks off on BBC One next Thursday 7th January at 9.00pm. Here's a quick trailer:
You can catch Danny and the rest of the gang for eight episodes through January and February. And of course, it's not the last time you'll see him on screen this year...
