Carpool Is Coming
Robert Llewellyn chat series begins on Dave.
29 October, 2010
It's here! Ten episodes of Carpool from Red Dwarf's very own Robert Llewellyn - all-new, made especially for TV, and broadcasting on Dave on Thursdays at 8.30pm from November 4th.
All the bits in bold are the important bits. Try to remember them.
Carpool's smack-your-own-head simplicity is its format. Give a interesting person a lift, chat to them, record it. After its early life as a wonderfully entertaining web series (well, we say 'early life', there have been almost 80 episodes and Robert promises that he's not done with this version of the show quite yet), Carpool has gone 'full telly'. It's an exciting example of just what can grow from a small, independent project.
Here's who you'll be seeing in the Prius passenger seat in the text ten weeks:
Episode 1 | Episode 6 |
Jason Manford Rufus Hound |
Jo Brand Jason Byrne |
Episode 2 | Episode 7 |
Chris Addison Arthur Smith |
David Baddiel (featuring Morwenna Banks) Tim Minchin |
Episode 3 | Episode 8 |
Rob Brydon Jeremy Hardy |
Phill Jupitus Toby Williams |
Episode 4 | Episode 9 |
Ross Noble Stephen K Amos |
Tim Vine Doon Mackichan |
Episode 5 | Episode 10 |
Craig Charles Paul Daniels |
Jim Jeffries Richard Herring |
It's worth noting a few Red Dwarf connections there. Craig Charles putting in an appearance is always good to see, as he doesn't do many chat shows these days. Morwenna Banks, of course, was in Series II's Stasis Leak as the Lift Attendant - and her partner, David Baddiel, was famously in the running for the role of Lister right at the beginning of the show's development.
Oh, and we think Phill Jupitus has seen Red Dwarf on telly. Almost certainly.
