Video Competition Launched on YouTube
Robert Llewellyn invites you to impress with your impressions.
26 March, 2010
If you're the kind of person who can't help lurching into a Red Dwarf quote now and again, complete with character impersonation - and if you're reading this, chances are you are that kind of person - BBC Worldwide have just given you the chance to embarrass yourself on a massive scale.
Robert Llewellyn has launched an impression competition on YouTube as part of the BBC Comedy Greats channel's Red Dwarf Takeover. If you do a decent Cat, Kryten, Rimmer, Lister, Holly or Kochanski... well, now's your chance to cash in!
The prize? Two tickets to Dimension Jump, taking place July 23rd-25th, 2010, including two nights' accommodation at the Birmingham Holiday Inn venue.
It's the best weekend of the year. You get to go for free. You will get to see the cast of the show. And you will, in all likelihood, wind up with a hangover.
Both the winner and the runner-up will also pick up Red Dwarf DVDs of their choice. Which, surely is a good a chance as any to complete your collection, maybe grab that copy of The Bodysnatcher Collection you'd always promised yourself...
To be in with a shot, you just have to submit a video of your impersonation. That's it!
The video must have a maximum run time of one minute and must not include other copyrighted material. Entrants must be over 18. The closing date for the competition is April 9th, 2010 at 12 noon BST. The competition also has a Facebook page in place.
Your correspondent will be holding back his smeggin' awesome Norman Lovett impersonation, however. Aside from being ineligible to compete, it really wouldn't be fair to everyone else. Watch for it at Dimension Jump, though.
And now, in case you missed any of that, here's Bobby:
