American Date Set For DVD And Blu-ray
Back to Earth hitting shelves in the USA before broadcast.
24 July, 2009

BBC Home Entertainment and Warner Home Video have revealed the date that American fans will finally be able to grab themselves a copy of the smash-hit Back to Earth saga - on DVD and Blu-ray.
Alongside the news of a UK Blu-ray release, this is great news for the inhabitants of Region 1. Both DVD and Blu-Ray will be identical to the UK releases - meaning the same trilogy viewable in either episode-trilogy or Director's Cut versions, a stack of stonking bonus material, and a full-on 5.1 audio mix that really seems to put a sea monster in your living room.
The 1.78:1, 1080i picture of the HD Blu-ray release is, of course, pretty damn gorgeous, coming direct from the digitally-shot-cut-and-graded source. Though the standard-def DVD doesn't pale, either. We recommend buying both versions. But then we would.
The date for both releases is October 6th, with artwork - which traditionally differs in the States from the UK original, so should be pretty interesting - to follow soon.
