The Cat is Cool
Hot news. A report into the sky being blue follows.
30 March, 2007
In what may be the most obvious announcement since Newton pointed out that stuff falls downwards, RadioTimes.com have revealed poll results that peg The Cat as officially 'cool'.
Over 4,000 people participated, and the results went like this:
- The Doctor (David Tennant)
- Jack Bauer in 24 (Kiefer Sutherland)
- The Fonz (Henry Winkler)
- Mr Darcy (Colin Firth)
- Cat in Red Dwarf (Danny John-Jules)
- DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister)
- Dermot O'Leary
- Columbo (Peter Falk)
- Dylan (The Magic Roundabout)
- Sawyer in Lost (Josh Holloway)
The website's poll mostly went for fictional characters, barring Dermot O'Leary, and the top ten are all males, but it's interesting to note that four of the ten - The Cat, Sawyer, The Doctor and Gene Hunt - all come from sci-fi/fantasy series. (And we think Jack Bauer's famous bad days probably count as SF/fantasy, too, as each series steps slightly further into the future.)
So, the The Cat is cool, huh? To see our other characters placed I guess we'll have to wait for the Biggest Slob, Best Cleaner and Most Annoying Total Bastard polls...
