Goodies Round-Up
Merchandise latest - and, oh yes, oh yes, our Starbug playset has arrived!
17 December, 2004
corgi_We thought we were having fun with the Corgi Toys released mere weeks ago - well, prepare for the GNP offices to be dragged into utter toy-based lunacy for our final week before Christmas. The Starbug Playset has arrived, and things may never be the same again.
Available now from the Red Dwarf Shop, the playset is everything you've been expecting. (Especially if you found the Series III DVD Easter Egg on the subject.) A probe that launches from beneath the belly of the ship, fully detailed interiors, a pop-up Holly monitor activated by Talkie Toaster, four beautifully crafted figures of the crew, push-button audio quotes from the show... it is an unparalleled delight.
But let none of the features distract you from the best thing about the playset - the sheer joy of having a large and accurate Starbug model of your very own. Will this lead to a sudden outpouring of fan films featuring Starbug model shots? Even a few that feature the all-too familiar crashes and explosions this ship has become famous for? Only time will tell...
Still, while we're on the subject of Dwarf merchandise, let's have a quick sniff around the RD Shop's new T-shirts, available to pre-order now for the New Year. Pictured here, the black and white shirts feature the Red Dwarf logo and quotes from Series V('You Have Been Judged Unworthy' and 'Welcome Back to Reality'). But these aren't your usual lightweight numbers. The shop's new lease on life - kicked off by a shot in the arm from new management - continues unabated with the quality here. Both shirts are top-class Fruit of the Loom, and the logos and quotes are beautifully embroidered - none of your cheap knock-offs here!
Finally those of a more collectorly bent might fancy a mosey over to Sci-Fi Collector, who have Red Dwarf stamp sheets and Cat-themed First Day Cover available, signed, right now. Their lovely laser-etch Starbug available with a light-emitting plinth is also still in stock - innit lovely?
You can visit the Red Dwarf Shop - selling DVDs, videos, T-shirts, books, RPGs and much, much more - right here, right now.
