Series V DVD
It's the release you've all been waiting for...
5 November, 2004
UK residents rejoice - Red Dwarf V arrives in stores on November 8th with a stack of extras that live up to, and even improve on, those that went before.
For the full list of extras click here, but they include a cast commentary, 75-minute series documentary, FX production diary, deleted scenes, smeg ups and a half-hour piece on Red Dwarf USA - complete with clips from the pilot!
It's the release Red Dwarf's top-rated series deserves, with unseen footage culled from the rushes, music cues, effects footage and even an original Dave Hollins Radio Sketch - the Grant Naylor spoof that spawned Red Dwarf in the first place! Oh, and there are a few Easter Eggs hidden in the menus, too - can you be the first to find them all?
In celebration we've added the Series V Wallpaper to our downloads - finally you can imagine yourselves outside the SSS Esperanto from the safety of your home computer. Or something.
With Series V on our minds, you might like to be reminded of some of reddwarf.co.uk's very own V-based features. Episode Guide with clips and classic moments, a full Red Dwarf USA history, we go behind the scenes in the Time Hole, or maybe you just want to check out the stills in our Image Gallery.
Our interview archive - Mr Flibble Talks To - is also packed with material. Aside from the main cast, we've also spoken to Holoship captain Matthew Marsh and Back to Reality nurse Marie McCarthy, and from Red Dwarf USA we have Rimmer actor Chris Eigeman and costume designer Joseph Kerezman.
Inevitably, Doug Naylor provides some of the most fascinating insights, but take a look at what some of the other crew members have to say. We've spoken to director Juliet May, effects gurus Peter Wragg and Mike Tucker, production designer Mel Bibby, costume designer Howard Burden, musician Howard Goodall, camera supervisor Rocket and sound supervisor Keith Mayes.
Still, if you're more interested in the fiction aspects of the show (yes, I'm sorry, Red Dwarf is, in fact, not a documentary series) Toaster Talking might be the place for you, interviewing various characters from the show's infinite universe. We especially recommend The Inquisitor, Nirvanah Crane and Dr Hildegard Lanstrom.
Finally, we are, as ever, looking for feedback from you! It's always important to hear what the fans have to say, so don't forget to post your reviews on the Red Dwarf Webboard.
You can buy the Series V DVD from the Red Dwarf Shop right now!
