Brittas Menus

Exclusive second series menu shots - and quite a departure from series one.

The second series of The Brittas Empire is due out on DVD and VHS on October 20th, and while we patiently wait for the release, Eureka Video have sent reddwarf.co.uk an exclusive look at the DVD animated menus in all their glory - and they're way above what we might have expected.

After a funky intro, including Brittas announcing the Whitbury Newtown Leisure Centre motto, CG-rendered menus take the viewer through the centre. The main menu is cunningly disguised on a clipboard in the changing room. Selecting the extras menu, meanwhile, will take the viewer out through the door and into the swimming pool!

But it was the episode menu which most surprised us. Looking up, the camera glides over to the lockers. Selecting one will open the door and take the camera closer, showing Polaroids pinned up inside, each of which represents a scene. Amazingly, this is almost exactly the same concept that will feature on the Red Dwarf DVDs for Series III and IV! (Only the Brittas locker room doesn't overlook Starbug in its hangar...)
