Blame Canada
Red Dwarf is scheduled in the land of the maple leaf and moose. Stereotypical? Us?
22 August, 2003
With a needlessly offensive homage to South Park's Oscar-nominated song in our headline, welcome to Canada's BBC Kids channel. An odd name for the station that will shortly be watching Lister wrestling with Kryten's groinal hose, but no matter. From September 1st BBC Kids will be screening all series of Red Dwarf, kicking off - with ridiculous common sense - with Series I.
The episodes - which include Series I-III remastered - will be shown five nights a week at 12.30am, with a 3am repeat. And if that's just a little too much for you to handle, separate weekend screenings are also scheduled for the same times on Saturday and Sunday nights. Two episodes a week or five? The choice is yours.
In the meantime, Mr Flibble has finally got his finger out (or rather, a couple of feathers from his wing) and lined up listings for British TV. With screenings currently on BBC2, UK Gold and BBC Prime it was time to cover Red Dwarf's home turf. Oh, and the new Canadian listings may have woken us up a bit. So I guess you can blame... well, you know.
You can check out the Canadian, American, Australian and UK television listings for Red Dwarf via the Dwarf Tracker.
