Fabulous Fanzine
The latest issue of Fan Club mag BTL arrives.
7 March, 2003
Once again Fan Club quarterly Better Than Life is delivering the goods to its membership. Issue 43 has all the latest news, reviews (including the Series II DVD) and fiction - made all the more significant because the content is provided by the fans.
This issue, the history of the Smegazine is laid out by Programme Guide authors Chris Howarth and Steve Lyons in part one of an exclusive interview; Robert Llewellyn discusses his WomanWizard tour; and Andrew Ellard waffles about the DVD bonus material.
In regular features, the Pete two-parter is put In Focus; two more fans pick their desert island Dwarf in Marooned; more pet peeves are dumped into Bay 47; there's more fan feedback in the ever-expanding Post Pod; and a great article compiles the top ten Red Dwarf Deaths - all the way from Winnie the Pooh and Mr Flibble to Ace Rimmer and Holly!
This issue also contains the all-new Red Dwarf Poll. The Fan Club's polling information has become a key part of Dwarf evolution - every vote counts. It's time to pick your favourite things about the series, the club, the DVDs... the whole smegging lot! Entering the poll, or this issue's competition, could also win lucky fans rare uncut sheets of Futera trading cards.
Plus, of course, there's the latest on Dimension Jump X - the tenth Red Dwarf Weekend. Planned appearances by cast and crew, fans are lining up, and the bar is being stocked - brace yourselves for an unforgettable weekend. (More info here.)
The club have also announced that magician and comedian John "Talkie" Lenahan has just signed up for the convention. This is one of the biggest guest lists ever for a convention - and don't forget that Grant Naylor will be capturing the event on video for use on the next DVDs! Book for Dimension Jump X now!
