Finally! Red Dwarf repeats return to the mother channel.
17 January, 2003
Since Tikka to Ride was broadcast at the end of a six-and-one-eighth series run on BBC2, fans have been impatiently tapping their Cuban heels awaiting news of further episode repeats. Well, wait no more, after a mere six months of waiting (!), Stoke Me A Clipper and Ouroboros will be shown consecutively on Wednesday June 30th from 11:20pm.
While the large quantity of sports coverage has made scheduling tricky, it is hoped that the rest of Series VII will follow thereafter. The rest of the series should continue with double-bills, and VIII may follow directly on - we'll bring you more when we have it.
Still, while we're here, let's take a look abroad. In Canada BBC Kids is still having its nightly run of Dwarf, with Series III due to start on July 6th. Screenings are at 12.30pm, weekdays, with a 3am repeat. In the same slots on weekend nights, Series VII begins on July 17th.
In other TV-related news, Danny John-Jules can now be seen on DVD in The Story Makers in his role as Milton Wordsworth. Anyone who heard Danny discussing this show at Dimension Jump will be hard pressed to see it in the same light ever again...
Finally, Comedy Connections have begun an eight-part series on BBC1 (Monday nights, 10.35pm.) As previously reported, the entire cast of Red Dwarf have been interviewed for a special dedicated to the show, as have Ed Bye, Rob Grant and Paul Jackson. The hot news, though, is that the guys have managed to snag a last-minute interview with Doug Naylor. This is likely to push the episode, of which reddwarf.co.uk has seen an early cut, towards the end of the run - more details on the dedicated half-hour documentary when we have them.
