The brand new Red Dwarf UK Shop opens its online doors.

Coinciding with the release of Series I on DVD, the amazing new Red Dwarf Shop has opened early to take orders of this must-have piece of Dwarfendise.

The full shop will open soon, carrying all the usual Red Dwarf goodies, plus a few exclusives you won't be able to get anywhere else. Top shop honcho Gary Loran told reddwarf.co.uk that "CarbonCo are delighted to have been selected by Grant Naylor to manage the Red Dwarf Shop. We realise that Red Dwarf is one of the biggest and most exciting properties in the history of UK entertainment and we are truly excited about bringing some of the unique features of Red Dwarf to life in the shop."

How does the new store compare to the one created by the previous company? "We believe the shop is a significant improvement on the last version in terms of content, usability, reliability, security and speed. The concept has been to bring the whole site up to date in terms of imagery and ease of use, while maintaining very high levels of security for both the user information and payment processing from malicious hackers. The speed if the site has been dramatically improved by eliminating the use of Flash and sound files. Our aim is to produce a dynamic shop with regular exclusive offers, promotions and products all Red Dwarf."

Ah-ha - exclusives! "We have many new and exclusive products planned for the shop including signed merchandise, studio props, and limited editions. The Red Dwarf Shop intends to be the first to launch all new products at the most competitive prices, with the opportunity to reserve items in advance of official release. We are working very closely with the licensees and manufacturers to bring you the very latest products first."

You're currently just selling the DVD - when are fans likely to see 'all systems go'? "Our plans are to launch the site as soon as possible in November. Much of the new merchandise will not be available until the spring but we will be offering some great new lines before Christmas as well as some old favourites."
