Indie End
The results are in for the PACT 'New Media' Indie Award. Did reddwarf.co.uk win?
22 March, 2002
Well no, of course we didn't. We were up against Big Brother's massive website, for smeg's sake! The nomination alone was a massive compliment, though. The eventual winner was, indeed, Big Brother, with the third nominee seethru.co.uk, the magazine spin-off site for TV series attachments. So massive congratulations to both.
Still, we fought the good fight - which is to say, website co-ordinator Andrew Ellard and Dwarfian computer effects legend Chris Veale showed up and drank themselves silly at the show-biz bash held in BBC TV centre. There might even have been the odd glimpse of Mr Flibble, hobbing and nobbing amongst the throng of glitterati, before finally crying in a corner about how he'd worked his flippers to the bone. He was last seen being put into a taxi while demanding a lifetime achievement award.
Red Productions were the big winners of the night, with Bob and Rose picking up a pair of gongs - collected by writer Russell T. Davis, star Alan Davies and producer Nicola Shindler (who also deservedly picked up the Indie-vidual award for her contribution to independent production). Other winners included Banzai for best light entertainment show, SM:TV in the Children's category, and Faking It for best factual programme.
