A Date With Danny
New movie Blade II - featuring one Danny John-Jules - gets set for release.
15 February, 2002
That's right, Cat fans - the purrrfect pussy is about to make his latest movieappearance in horror-action flick Blade II. Following on from the first film, it stars Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson (even though his character, Whistler, died in the first flick!), former 'Bros' singer Luke Goss and, of course, our very own Danny John-Jules.
New Line cinema have announced a release date of March 22nd, 2002 for the film, which gives you plenty of time to book front-row tickets. (Cat aficionados will no-doubt arrive in a suit sharper than Hannibal Lecter's cutlery, complete with roller-skates and megaphone.) Bear in mind this is the American release date, with the UK one likely to be shortly afterwards.
Blade II continues the story of the revenge-seeking half-man, half-vampire - this time seeing him team up with a gang of highly-trained vamps known as the Bloodpack to take on the Reapers - "super-vampires" on a hunt to eradicate both races. It's directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Mimic, Chronos, The Devil's Backbone) and written by David S. Goyer (who penned the original Blade as well as 1998's Dark City).
The Blade II website has unveiled an exciting teaser trailer - focussing almost entirely on the return of Blade himself - to whet the bloody appetite. We're think we've spotted Danny, in the character of 'Asad', striding along beside Wesley Snipes - but fans can make up their own minds in this screengrab which appears with kind permission of New Line.
