Paul Jackson Heads Down Under
Red Dwarf's former executive producer heads to Oz.
8 December, 2000
Paul Jackson, formerly the BBC controller of entertainment, has left the BBC in order to take up the twin positions of managing director for Granada Media Australia and chief executive of Red Heart Productions in Sydney.
Perhaps best known to reddwarf.co.uk visitors as the man who shopped the Red Dwarf pilot script around the industry for years, Jackson was also behind such comedy hits as The Young Ones, Filthy Rich and Catflap and Happy Families. He also famously took the director's chair for season IV's White Hole when Ed Bye fell ill.
Jackson will now be overseeing new commissions. Red Heart's current output includes Home & Away, which recently moved to Channel 5 in the UK.
