Did You Know?
The Pete story was originally a single episode titled Captain's Office, which was expanded when budgetary concerns meant the original finale had to be dropped.
The presence of a T-Rex in the script came about from Doug Naylor wondering how expensive a CGI dinosaur would be. When the answer came back as "Quite cheap", it was full steam ahead - although the animation was also supplemented with animatronics, Jurassic Park style.
The flashback scene of the Dwarfers being admitted to the prison by Ackerman was intended to open Cassandra - hence the appearance of The Shend as Warden Knot - but shunted here when that episode overran.
