It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Stephen Critchlow at the age of 54.

Stephen Critchlow

Born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Stephen was a well-respected actor with a long-standing career in reparatory theatre and television, with credits including Monarch of the Glen, Skins and Downton Abbey. He is perhaps best known for his work in audio drama, particularly with the BBC Radio Drama Company and Big Finish, where he appeared in numerous Doctor Who stories, as well as his voiceover work in cartoons and video games, such as World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

To Red Dwarf fans he will be remembered as Captain Herring in Series XI's Officer Rimmer, as well as his memorable appearance at Dimension Jump XIX, where he was known for his warmth and enthusiastic approach with fans.
