All the latest news from the Boys from the Dwarf.
16 April, 2021
Undeterred by the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, the cast and crew of Red Dwarf have kept us entertained through thick and thin. Whether it's in-depth interviews, new shows, talking head appearances or musical performances, there's always something for everyone. As the restrictions start to ease, let's see what they're up to.
First up, and fresh from his appearance on Agatha & Poirot: Partners in Crime, Danny John-Jules' 2016 short film Bucky is now showing as part of the London Independent Film Festival.

Written and directed by Danny, the film tells "a story seen from the eyes of a five-year-old boy, who through no fault of his own comes face to face with disaster." It was produced by Danny's own production company, KMBA Productions and was shot by series XI and XII's director of photography Ed Moore.

We're pleased to see some live appearances pencilled in for Craig Charles who is set to appear at The Cambridge Club Festival and The Lindisfarne Festival. Both festivals take place in September, and as one of the busiest people in showbiz, we expect to see many more live dates to come. Craig can also be seen every week on Channel 5's The Gadget Show and heard every week on his BBC Radio 6 Music Funk and Soul Show. Follow Craig on Twitter for all the latest updates.

Norman Lovett, meanwhile, has been in the studio to record Alphard Wars, a brand-new satirical audio drama featuring established stars alongside radio newcomers. With a bizarre body swapping premise and featuring Norman in the role of an autonomous van called Chiefty, we can't wait to hear the full series. You can find all the details here.

And if that's not quite enough Norman for you, why not check out his Cameo profile to get a personalised message from the man himself. Just be careful what you ask him for.

And finally, next month sees the premier of Murder, They Hope, a spoof whodunnit directed by Ed Bye and starring Timewaves' Johnny Vegas alongside Sian Gibson.
Those who joined us for the Quarantine Commentaries earlier in the year will remember Ed talking about this project and we're thrilled to see it come to fruition. Following on from writer Jason Cook's previous comedies Murder on the Blackpool Express, Death on the Tyne and Dial M for Middlesbrough, the new three-part series will premiere on Gold on Saturday the 8th of May.
