The Promised Land Is Here
Tonight at 9pm on Dave - the Red Dwarf feature-length special!
9 April, 2020
Almost exactly eleven years ago, Red Dwarf returned to television screens with an Easter weekend special on Dave. And tonight, history repeats itself: Red Dwarf: The Promised Land, a brand new 90-minute special, airs on Dave tonight at 9pm!
The feature-length special - the biggest and longest piece of Red Dwarf ever made in one go - once again reunites the original cast of Chris Barrie (Rimmer), Craig Charles (Lister), Danny John-Jules (Cat) and Robert Llewellyn (Kryten), with the return of Holly (Norman Lovett), the much loved ship's computer. Written and directed by Doug Naylor, it was recorded in front of a live studio audience over two nights at the world famous Pinewood Studios. The special is produced by Richard Naylor and is a Baby Cow production.
The epic story sees the Red Dwarf posse meet three Cat clerics (Tom Bennett, Mandeep Dhillon, Lucy Pearman) who worship Lister as their God. Lister vows to help them as they're being hunted by Rodon, the ruthless feral cat leader (Ray Fearon) who has vowed to wipe out all cats who worship anyone but him.
If you still can't wait until tonight to see some of the special, then the entire opening five minutes are available right now on YouTube - having been already watched over 700,000 times by viewers online!
Of course, @RedDwarfHQ will be live on Twitter throughout and after the show, along with @davechannel - and we'll want to see your comments and reactions! Use the hashtag #RedDwarf to join in the conversation!
