First guest announced for the 2020 Fan Club shindig!

Dimension Jump XXI, then. It's got a date (29th-31st May). It's got a place (The Crowne Plaza, Nottingham). It's got a logo (this lovely orange competition-winner).

What it hasn't had, yet, are any confirmed guests - although the fact that it immediately sold out before any were announced showed just what a fantastic weekend it's known by the fandom to be, and how the Fan Club could have got away with booking "Second GELF From The Right" and "A Journalist Who Once Appeared On A Clip Show Talking About The Series" and everyone would still have come along.

Thankfully, though, DJ deals in top-line guests - and the first-announced one is a very familiar face to every fan, even if his body isn't seen quite as often: it's Norman Lovett!

Norman had been away from DJ for a while - last appearing in 2006 - before joining the gang at last year's mega 30th anniversary celebration. But this time, he's doing back-to-back events for the first time in over a decade - and as those who've seen him at the convention before will attest, when you get Norman, you don't just get autographs and photographs, but a strong likelihood of an excellent standup set into the bargain.

Although just the first guest announced so far, there's more to come from the Fan Club's end news-wise in the coming weeks - and we're told the upcoming guest announcements will include someone who's never made it to a DJ before. So stay tuned for that one!

As DJXXI is sold out, we're aware that this news is largely of interest to those who did manage to book a spot - but do keep an eye on The Fan Club's Twitter and their regular email missive, Psi-Scan, as there could yet be opportunities to bag a pass between now and May!
