LEGO® Dimensions™ gets a Red Dwarf update!
18 November, 2016
The wait has almost felt like three million years, but finally, Red Dwarf is landing on video game consoles! Specifically, it's coming to one of the biggest video game franchises out there: LEGO Dimensions, the toy tie-in game that sees characters from across the multiverse of popular fiction coming together with levels themed around your favourite movies, TV shows and games. And since Red Dwarf is obviously all our favourite TV show - well, it had to get there eventually, right?
LEGO Dimensions players who pick up the new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them expansion pack - released today, November 18th - will be able to explore a whole area based around Red Dwarf XI, with several rooms from the show including the iconic bunkroom, multiple corridors, and the fancy new science room; all lovingly recreated in LEGO bricks! And while you can't actually play as Red Dwarf characters (sorry, it's a scenery update only), you can create the crossover of your dreams by bringing in the likes of Batman, Marty McFly, Sonic the Hedgehog and (fuelling a particularly popular strain of fanfic) Doctor Who.
LEGO Dimensions is available now for PlayStation 4, Playstation 3, Wii U, Xbox One and Xbox 360 - and if you've never played it before, you will also need to purchase the main Starter Pack in order for the Fantastic Beasts Story Pack to work.
And although Lister, Rimmer, Cat and Kryten may not be around, there are at least a few familiar objects scattered around the place: from Snacky, to a couple of Skutters, and a few more surprises besides. But we want you to be able to discover these - not to mention how to actually find the area in the game in the first place - for yourselves! So the quicker you get the pack, the quicker you can get hunting...
