Exclusive RDXI Doug interview in new mag!
11 December, 2015
Red Dwarf has always had a good relationship with the popular and long-running sci-fi magazine SFX - going all the way back to Kryten's first cover appearance in July 1996's issue #14, and running right up to the special limited edition cover that was issued in 2009 and actually appeared in the Back to Earth specials. So it's no surprise that with a new series on the way, the good folks at the mag have once again decided to cast a spotlight on the show.
The newest issue of SFX, #269, features the Dwarf crew on the cover - although given slightly less prominence than those two pesky folks from The X-Files - and inside, as part of their special 2016 TV Preview, you'll find an exclusive interview with Red Dwarf writer/director Doug Naylor. The piece is only a short one, but it contains several brand new tidbits relating to the commissioning and production of the new episodes - so even if your Anticipation Mode is already in overdrive, this article will push it even further!
Because there are apparently other things happening in the world of sci-fi in 2016 (we know, we're as surprised as you are) in the rest of the mag you'll also find features on the likes of Agent Carter, Preacher, Doctor Who, Deadpool, X-Men Apocalypse and lots more. Oh, and The X-Files, because it turns out other cult 1990s TV shows have decided to nick our idea and have modern-day comebacks of their own.
SFX is available in print form in newsagents up and down the UK, and can also be ordered directly from My Favourite Magazines. But if you prefer your magazine action digitally, you can pick it up on iPad (Newsstand), Google Play, Zinio and Nook - and it's also available to subscribers of Readly. The issue went on this last Wednesday (9th December), so should still be available up until early January.
