Hawks On Tour
Tony has a new book out - and live dates, to boot.
6 March, 2015
Ah, Tony Hawks. The man who could inspire a multiple choice "Who did this man play in Red Dwarf?" question where every single answer was correct. But aside from being the show's restauranteur-suitcase-compere-vending-machine-mad-wax-emperor of all trades, Tony has a rather distinguished career as an author (alongside his careers as comedian, actor, occasional pop star and charity-founder... let's just say his life outside Dwarf reflects his life inside it). He's had four major books so far, most notably his hit memoir Round Ireland With A Fridge - but number five is now on the way, in the shape of Once Upon A Time In The West... Country.
Having traversed Ireland, played the Moldovan football team at tennis, had a hit single in Albania and moved a piano to the south of France, Tony's latest book sees him embark on possibly his greatest challenge yet: giving up cushy city life in London to go and live in the countryside. No, look, it's trickier than it sounds, honest.
In addition to the new book, which is published on 12th March, Tony has scheduled a number of live dates up and down the country this spring, at which he'll be reading from the book, signing copies, and just generally talking nonsense about his life and career. There might even be a song or two. The dates are as follows:
Monday 16th March | Brendon Books, Taunton |
Thursday 19th March | Glee Club, Nottingham |
Friday 20th March | Glee Club, Birmingham |
Sunday 22nd March | Glee Club, Oxford |
Wednesday 8th April | The Lantern, Bristol |
Saturday 11th April | Bloomsbury Studio, London |
Sunday 12th April | Theatre at the Mill, Newtownabbey |
Wednesday 15th April | West End Centre, Aldershot |
Thursday 16th April | Discovery Centre, Winchester |
Sunday 19th April | Exeter Phoenix, Exeter |
As anyone who saw him at the last Dimension Jump convention will attest, Tony's great fun to see live on stage - so get in fast before tickets sell out!
