Dave's Dwarf-a-Thon
New repeat run kicks off with Series I this weekend.
14 November, 2014
Nice things happen when Red Dwarf gets repeated on Dave. People rediscover the show who might not have seen it for years. Fans chew over their favourite moments and lines on Twitter. And sometimes, we even get new episodes out of it. So it's always a joy when a new repeat run is announced, and it's especially pleasing to see a full-on Red Dwarf marathon taking place over two (and possibly further) successive weekends.
Starting tomorrow, Saturday 15th November, Dave are showing the entirety of Series I, all six episodes one after the other. It all kicks off at 3pm (GMT), meaning (with the standard 40-minute timeslot) the schedule is as follows:
15:00 | The End |
15:40 | Future Echoes |
16:20 | Balance of Power |
17:00 | Waiting for God |
17:40 | Confidence & Paranoia |
18:20 | Me2 |
If you manage to miss the 3pm run, however - or if you're just generally more of a night owl - the whole shebang is repeated again from 11pm through to 2:50am on Sunday morning.
Just repeating one series in full, however, isn't quite enough for the folks at Dave - so on the following weekend, Saturday 22nd November, they're doing exactly the same thing with Series II! If we tell you that run starts at 3pm as well, you can probably work out the schedule yourself, but let's give you it here anyway:
15:00 | Kryten |
15:40 | Better than Life |
16:20 | Thanks for the Memory |
17:00 | Stasis Leak |
17:40 | Queeg |
18:20 | Parallel Universe |
And yes, the whole lot is, once again, repeated at 11pm. You can find Dave on Sky 111, Virgin Media 128 and Freeview 12. The channel is also in HD on Virgin 194 (it defaults to HD on Sky), and the timeshifted-by-an-hour Dave ja vu is on Sky 158, Virgin 129 and Freeview 25. It's also available on Smallworld Cable, UPC Ireland and WightFibre, and if you're a Sky Go or Virgin TV Anywhere subscriber you can watch online with the appropriate apps. Phew.
Of course, if you don't have access to Dave, but you want to join the huge numbers of fans watching simultaneously, you could always have your own marathon at home with the DVDs or On Demand versions. Just remember to make up your own continuity announcements, pause the episodes for a couple of minutes halfway through, and spend the gaps between thinking about products you might want to buy...
