Norm on Tour
Stand-up show goes out on the road.
17 January, 2014
There have already been plenty of chances to catch the latest standup show from Norman Lovett, the aptly titled Old and New - from the pre-Edinburgh Festival preview shows, to the during-Edinburgh Festival actual Edinburgh Festival shows, to the post-Edinburgh Festival mini-shows. But if you didn't manage to see it at some point in 2013, you're in luck - as there's now a full set of tour dates slated to run through the early part of 2014 instead.
Old and New, which by all accounts is part standup gig and part "man showing you photographs from his iPad" can be seen on the following dates in the following places:
Saturday 22nd February | Just The Tonic, Leicester |
Sunday 23rd February | Hyena Lounge, York |
Monday 24th February | Hyena Lounge, Hull |
Saturday 1st March | Rondo Theatre, Bath |
Sunday 9th March | Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth |
Friday 14th March | Norden Arts, Maidenhead |
Sunday 16th March | Just the Tonic, Nottingham |
Thursday 20th March - Saturday 22nd March | Leicester Square Theatre, Lounge |
Wednesday 26th March | Caroline of Brunswick, Brighton |
Thursday 27th March | South Street, Reading |
Friday 28th March | Riverhouse Barn, Surrey |
Monday 31st March | Dancehouse, Manchester |
Thursday 3rd April | Phoenix Theatre, Exeter |
Tuesday 8th April | Old Town Hall, High Wycombe |
Reviewing the show, Official Red Dwarf Companion author (and guest GELF extra!) Bruce Dessau describes Norman as "a master of the slow burn gag, effortlessly making crowds laugh with a few unexpected props and some idle thoughts about the current state of pop music. There has probably never been a better time to see him. Do comedians lose it in old age? At 67 Norman Lovett might be finding it."
