Danny John-Jules to appear on BBC1 quiz.

Red Dwarf has already established a bit of a history with the venerable BBC quiz series Mastermind - with fans Steve Clark(in 2003) and Katy Bateman(earlier this year) naming the show as their specialist subjects in their original heats, and clocking up highly impressive scores in the process. Meanwhile, back in late 2010, Robert Llewellyn and Hattie Hayridge recorded appearances for the Celebrity edition of the show.

And it's in the latter pair's footsteps that Danny John-Jules is now following, as he has himself recorded an edition of Celebrity Mastermind to be broadcast over the festive period. Danny's episode, in which he'll be going up against food writer Prue Leith, TV presenter Gail Porter and BBC Breakfast's Mike Bushell, is the second of a new series, and is scheduled to air on BBC1, Saturday 28th December at 5.30pm.

As yet, we don't know how Danny performed in the episode - nor do we know what his specialist subject was. But we wouldn't be surprised if it was something to do with motorbikes...

It's also not the only quiz show appearance by a Red Dwarf member that's in the can and waiting to be broadcast, as Robert Llewellyn has recently become the latest Dwarfer to featured on Pointless Celebrities. Will he match Danny and Craig's winning result from earlier this year? You'll have to wait until the new year to find out.
