Doug in Space
Writer/director attending public Q&A event.
24 May, 2013
While the Red Dwarf cast can often be found lighting up the halls of sci-fi conventions across the land, it's rarer to see the show's writer and co-creator, Doug Naylor, making public appearances. Dispelling the notion that writers are exclusively solitary, reclusive souls, however, Doug is emerging early this summer to appear at a regular cultural event in Brighton called The Space.
The Space is a regular event held at Brighton's intimate The Basement venue, at which all manner of special guests from the worlds of film, TV, music, comedy and literature sit down for a relaxed chat about their work and careers. Doug will join a list of past guests that includes such luminaries as Mark Gatiss, Frank Skinner, David Morrissey, Sir Alan Parker, Barry Cryer, William Nicholson and, erm, Noddy Holder.
The event will take place on Thursday 13th June at 7pm - and as well as being interviewed by the event's host, Briggy Smale, Doug will also answer questions from the audience. He's actually one of two sci-fi legends appearing that night - as musical War of the Worlds creator Jeff Wayne is also on the bill. Tickets are available now for £10, but space is limited, so hurry!
Find out more and buy tickets at The Space's website.
