A Very Good Friday
Easter repeats on Dave.
29 March, 2013
Easter is a particularly celebratory time for Red Dwarf fans these days, as it was on Good Friday - and the two days following - in 2009 that the show made its return to the air, following a decade-long wait, with Back to Earth. Some say that a few other things are supposed to have happened over this weekend a couple of thousand years or so ago, but we think we can all agree what the more important anniversary is.
Now, we're not sure if our chums at Dave are deliberately marking the anniversary, or if it's just a nice coincidence, but today, 29th March, they're having a special Red Dwarf marathon. Not of their own-commissioned Back to Earth or Series X, however, but rather a pleasant nostalgic journey all the way back to the beginning.
That's right, starting at 1pm (BST) with The End, they'll be running through the entirety of Series I - giving you the opportunity to relive "Everybody's dead, Dave", twin babies from the future, Quagaars, raining fish, double Rimmers, and all the other myriad classic moments the first series holds. Sure, you could just crack open the DVD or iTunes whenever you want to do this, but as we always say, there's something that bit more enjoyable about watching the show on TV and knowing hundreds of thousands of others are doing the same at that very moment...
What's more, if you miss the repeat run today then get up early enough tomorrow, Saturday 30th, and you can catch them all over again from 9am. And yes, it is a little disappointing that they're not showing Lemons on Easter Sunday, but you can't have everything...
