Alright on the Night
Smeg Ups to feature in ITV blooper compilation.
21 December, 2012
We like to think that the Red Dwarf "Smeg Ups" and "Smeg Outs" compilation videos of the mid 1990s were - for better or worse - instrumental in widening public interest in the art of the comedy "blooper". So it's nice to see this Christmas that somebody at ITV has noticed that with a new series of Dwarf comes a brand new batch of Smeg Ups, too.
As such, the latest instalment of long-running outtake highlights show It'll Be Alright On The Night, to be broadcast over the festive season, will - we've been told - feature a number of Red Dwarf X outtakes. Which means that even if your family are sick of you playing the Series X DVD over and over again, you've got another way to sneak the show into that post-Boxing Day lull.
The show, hosted by Griff Rhys-Jones - who took over following the retirement of stalwart Denis Norden in 2006 - is on ITV1 at 9pm on Friday 28th December. We don't know exactly which cuts will be featured - although we know which of our favourites we'd like to see - so why not tune in and find out?
