Ed's Got Company

Former Dwarf director goes into production partnership.

Ed Bye is probably a familiar face to Red Dwarf fans thanks to appearances in the DVD documentaries that are far funnier than a behind-the-scenes bod has any right to be.

Ed produced and directed Series I to IV, Series VII and Series VIII - just part of a busy career that includes The Young Ones, Bottom and Kevin & Perry Go Large - but for the first time he has announced the formation of his own production company.

Well, we say 'his own', Tall TV is a partnership between Ed, Coming of Age writer Tim Dawson and Susan Nickson, the creator of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. The company will be devoted to comedy and are already speaking to broadcasters.

As reported by The British Comedy Guide, Ed says the company name came from "the fact that Tim and myself are around 6ft 3ins tall, and Susan has committed to wearing substantial heels or possibly stilts in order to give the company name some credence."
