Dave Take a Ride With Carpool
Bobby Llew's online series transfers to TV.
2 July, 2010
In great news for fans of a) Robert Llewellyn, b) chat shows, c) the Dave channel or d) Robert Llewellyn chat shows on the Dave channel, RDF have announced production of a Carpool TV series.
It's a ridiculously good fit. Ten 30-minute shows are being made by the Scrapheap Challenge producers with one of the stars of Dave's biggest ever hit, Red Dwarf: Back to Earth. Oh, and it's funded by Toyota Prius - electric vehicles being another Llewellyn hot-topic.
In their release RDF Contact's Dominic Bowles says: Having started as an online project before transferring to mainstream TV with the help of a commercial funding partner, Carpool is in many respects a case study for modern TV production.
The TV series will be all-new, especially-recorded content - better looking and sounding. but otherwise the same old, nicely-informal chatter. Apparently none of the previous Carpool guests will feature, which makes you wonder who's going to be getting into the passenger seat this time.
Though this is likely to see a reduction in the online Carpool series, Robert is promising to try to keep it up as best he can. Plus the TV series is going to made available online soon after broadcast.
