After the success of Back to Earth, not to mention all the rumours a-buzzing around the possibilities of more new Red Dwarf, it's hardly a surprise to see new merchandise emerging - but it's lovely and heartwarming all the same.

Underground Toys are dipping a toe in the water with three releases. A keychain, a mug... and the latest in their line of In Your Pocket novelty gadgets. Robyn Morgan, Licensing Manager at Underground Toys, says, We're thrilled to be on board with Red Dwarf and think it's a great fit for our customer base - there are some classic one-liners from a great retro property.

The keychain and mug both feature the classic Red Dwarf logo - ideal for, erm, drinking your tea while you look for your keys. The chain should retail for around £2.99, the mug for £5.99.

But it's the In Your Pocket gizmo, retailing for £8.99, that will inevitably cause the most chatter. You'll almost certainly have seen these before - Underground have made versions for Star Wars, Star Trek, Thunderbirds and The Hoff - and the Dwarf version is just as nuttily appealing.

The final line-up is to be confirmed, but a collection of lines from the series will be available at the touch of a button. Rimmer, Lister, Cat and Kryten - immediate and out-loud. Which, as we all know, means trouble in classrooms around the country...

Don't go running for your credit cards - or, more likely, pocket change - just yet, though. The Underground goodies won't be available until summer 2010.
