Lord Freddie Windsor ties the knot on Saturday, September 12th with our very own Sophie Winkleman, and everyone from both Dave and Red Dwarf wishes them all the very best.

The actress will be familiar to fans from the Back to Earth specials as Katerina Bartikovsky, Rimmer's surprise replacement whose campaign to eliminate old Rimsey was brought to a sudden, automotive halt.

The wedding takes place in The Chapel Royal in Hampton Court, and we can only hope things work out better than the marriages that tend to feature within the Red Dwarf universe. Lister has, after all, had to tie the knot to a giant GELF with enough hair to provide a fireside rug for Vesuvius. He was also beaten to the alter by his own future self, thus denying himself the chance of a honeymoon with dream-girl Kochanski.

Lister also gatecrashed the wedding of Frank Rimmer, Arnold's brother, and got himself beaten up for his trouble. And that's before we get into the marriage of Rimmer's parents, which by all accounts resulted on psychosis on one side, and positively industrial levels of adultery on the other.

Compared to the fictional options available, Freddy and Sophie only have to worry about where to seat Bryan Adams, and how best to ask Mike Figgis to hold the video camera...
